Players receive all-league honors

Three players each from Watsonville and Pajaro Valley high schools were given first team all-Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division honors on Monday night by the coaches in the division.

League honors were given to Pajaro Valley’s Luis Rodriguez, Jose Perez and Gabriel Lopez.

For Watsonville, they went to Alvaro Madrigal, Alex Cibrian and Brian Hernandez. Cibrian was the team’s leading scorer this season, putting in 14 goals. Madrigal had nine goals and four assists, including two goals in the team’s final game on Tuesday against Sequoia of Redwood City.

North Monterey County had two first-teamers: Roman Perez and Roman Medina.

The Sportsmanship Award went to Watsonville’s Gonzalo Samudio, while the Wildcatz were the recipients of the Team Sportsmanship Award.
