WATSONVILLE — A teen juvenile was attacked early Saturday, in what police are describing as an attempted rape, at the Motel 6 on 125 Silver Leaf Drive.

Police initially got a call at 2:33 a.m. of an attempted rape. Master Officer Jose Barrera said the male suspect forced the victim into the laundry room, which is located on the ground floor. The suspect held the female juvenile victim against her will and was able to pull the victim's shorts down to her knees. That’s when the victim's father came upon the attack and found the suspect holding the victim against a wall, Barrera said.

The victim's father aided his daughter by fending the suspect off. The suspect managed to escape and flee the scene. Police were not able to locate him, despite an extensive search.

The victim did not suffer physical injuries.
