Royal Oaks – Jeanne Rainwater passed away at her home on January 2, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Jeanne was born in North Little Rock Arkansas on July 7, 1926. She was the youngest of five lively girls. She married Miles Rainwater in 1952 in Pioche, Nevada. The two of them moved from Nevada to California in 1955. For the 30 years of their marriage they lived in Southern California and raised a family of four. Together they ran a machine shop business and built a fishing boat, which was the reason for their move north to the Moss Landing area. Miles passed on in 1983 and Jeanne began a career at the Carmel Valley Manor as the Assistant Controller and continued there for 15 years.
Attending church was foremost in Jeanne’s life. Her steadfast faith provided a positive influence in the lives of all who knew her. Jeanne also loved gardening, her pond, playing cards, volunteering at the Goodwill, and swimming with her friends at the YMCA.
Jeanne leaves behind a number of very good friends and relatives including her children, Jo Rainwater, Debra Meyers, Jack Rainwater, and Harold Rainwater, their spouses Gary Meyers, Kathleen Rainwater, and Beticia Rainwater, a dozen grandchildren, and almost eight great-grandchildren.
The world will seem a little less complete without her enthusiasm for living, big smile, laughter, and love of life. We take comfort in knowing that she is now with Jesus Christ and that we’ll see her again when we travel that way. There will be a graveside memorial in February for those who knew and loved Jeanne.
