WATSONVILLE — Josephine Casillas died on Friday, January 11, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was 82.
Mrs. Casillas was born in Santa Barbara on April 24, 1930, to Leonardo and Ramona (Padilla) Lopez. Throughout her childhood her family lived everywhere from Texas to Mexico, until they moved to Watsonville. Upon marriage, she and her husband Panfilo, of 56 years, settled in Aromas to raise their two children and be close to her family. She enjoyed reading and being with her family. She was a very devoted and religious person.
She is survived by her children, Louie Casillas (Norma) and Alicia Garcia (Indalecio); 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and other family members in the surrounding tri-county area including her brother, three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today from 3-9 p.m. with the Rosary starting at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St.,Watsonville, CA. Mass of Christian Burial take place Friday at 1 p.m. located at Valley Catholic Church in Watsonville, with interment to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Reception will follow.
