SANTA CRUZ — It started when she was singing at three years old, gained momentum when she picked up a guitar at 10 and became official when she started her band at 11.

Now 18, and more than 400 performances later, Santa Cruz rocker Jackie Partida’s star has skyrocketed with a featured video on Vevo.com, the official music video provider for music labels Sony, Hollywood Records, Universal and more.

Her name is also alongside big names in the music industry such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, LMFAO and more.

"It's such an honor to be a part of it," Partida said. "It's really exciting and so cool to see it up on Vevo.”

Partida and her band, Jackie Rocks, were showcased on Vevo’s “You Play Like a Girl” video series, which began airing in mid-December. The series, produced by Mike Rabb and hosted by professional industry drummer Samantha Maloney, who has played for bands such as Motley Crue, Hole and Joan Jett, highlights the top teen female musicians across the country.
