Jacquelyn M. “Jackie” Gutierrez died December 29, 2012, at her home in Freedom. She was 66. A native of South San Francisco, she had lived in the Watsonville area since 1953. Mrs. Gutierrez graduated from Watsonville High School in 1964. She loved watching NASCAR racing, going to craft shows and oldies music. Her granddaughters and nieces and nephews all played softball or baseball, and she tried to attend all of their games.
Mrs. Gutierrez leaves her son, Gilbert (Cindy) Valenzuela of Capitola, two brothers, John (Glenda) Brazil of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Joe Brazil of Watsonville, two sisters, Janice Rivera of Watsonville and Jeanette (Felix) Gurule of Ceres and her granddaughters, Payton and Kelsey Valenzuela of Capitola. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Richard (Julie), Jill, Jenny, Gumby and Trish, great nieces and nephews, R.J., Jordan, Aaron, Ryan, Bubba, and Brisea. Mrs. Gutierrez is preceded in death by her sisters Judy, Joyce, and Jonette, and her brother, James.
The family would like to thank the following people for all their help and support: Dana, Erma, Terry, Val, Don, Lynette, Betty, Barbara, Steve, and Richard (Julie) Rivera. At Jackie’s request there will be no services. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
