WATSONVILLE — The Watsonville Beautification Committee presented the results of its annual Christmas lights report.
“The best of the best was Mike Carranco’s display at Crestview Garden Apartments,” said committee member JoMarie Lake. “He did a great job. It’s kind of hard to find because it’s not visible from the street. The display is on the inside of the complex by the pool. He’s really excited about the display.”
Carranco said he has built the display for several years and that his collection of lights and such keeps growing.
“I love doing this,” Carranco said. “It makes people happy. People bring their kids down here, and you can see how excited they are. It’s a lot of work but I really enjoy it.”
Part of the display is synchronized, through a computer program, to holiday music.
The best house and yard in the religious theme is the home of Lidia Camargo, 310 Riverside Drive.
The best outdoor tree is 87 Meadow Terrace, the home of Ron Haedicke.
