WATSONVILLE — Maria Manuela Rodriguez died on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Country Villa in Watsonville. She was 86.
A native of Maripa, Sinaloa, Mexico, she came to the Watsonville area in 1965. Mrs. Rodriguez worked in the frozen food industry for 20 years. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Las Lomas. As a devoted member of the church, she enjoyed attending services and participated in their door-to-door ministry. She loved to tend her flower garden and cook for her family gatherings on Sundays.
Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her sons, Manuel of Salinas, Ramon of Yuma, and Ricardo of Sacramento; daughters, Amalia Cavados of Modesto, Berthila Rodriguez of Mexico, Consuelo Solis of Ojai, Berta Berrelleza of Watsonville; three brothers in Mexico, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco in 2010.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Graveside services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Valley Public Cemetery.
