SANTA CRUZ — Andy “Andy” Louis Delucchi died at his daughter Joy’s home on Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was 90.
Born in Santa Cruz, Mr. Delucchi attended Holy Cross Elementary School, Mission Hill Jr. High School and was the last graduating class of Chaminade High School in 1940. He was a long time resident of La Selva Beach and farmed for more than 58 years. From 1956 to 1974, he owned and operated Andy’s Berry Farm. Upon his retirement in 1974, and up until his passing, was a landlord of various agriculture properties.
He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Ann Delucchi and Joy Marie Delucchi; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, William Delucchi; and sister, Frances Pletschet. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy G. Delucchi in 2002, and his brother, Louis “Gino” Andreotti in 1999.
A private committal service was held in Santa Cruz this past week. Mr. Delucchi had a passion for the students and teachers at Chartwell School, which meets specific needs of Dyslexic, ADD, and ADHD students.
