Author to sign copies of latest murder mystery

WATSONVILLE — What if, in a moment of absentmindedness, someone forgot to reset the password to their combination lock, leaving whatever they intended to keep locked up essentially wide-open for those with nefarious intentions?

This is one of the premises behind Vinnie Hansen's latest installment in the Carol Sabala Murder Mystery series, "Art, Wine & Bullets."

The retired Watsonville High School English teacher will be signing copies of her book at Crossroads Books, 1935 Main St. in Watsonville, on Saturday from 1-3 p.m.

The idea came to Hansen one day as she was locking the gate at her home.

"I thought, 'that would be a great clue in a Carol Sabala murder mystery,'" she said.
