Stanley was born on September 1, 1922 to Melvin Martin and Alma Newhall. He graduated from Watsonville High School in 1940 an then attended Hartnell Jr. College.
He married Ayleen Dyche in Watsonville.
Stanley was the owner of Martin and Friend Insurance, he worked previously for the Watsonville Water Dept, and as an FBI agent.
Stanley lived in this community all his life.
He served in WW II as a Sergeant in the Engineering corp.
He was a member of the Watsonville Kiwanis Club and served as Lieutenant Governor.
Stanley attended All Saint's Church and he served in many positions of leadership, and was always ready to help with a project.
Stan was a devoted and loving husband and father, and was generous to many people. His passion for fishing allowed him to enjoy lifetime friendships and the natural world. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his siblings Norman and Phyllis Martin of Santa Clara; Ron Martin of Colorado; Dotty Bretschneider (sister-in-law) of San Jose;
His children Suzanne Martin of Poulsbo, WA; Laurie Fetty of Monroe, WA; Scott Martin, Watsonville, CA; grandchildren Solyssa Visalli of Bend, OR; Brian Fetty of Maple Valley, WA; Jeremiah Martin of Des Moines, IA; Sarah Steiner of Tatonka, IA; great-grandchildren Lacey Martin, Anabelle Martin, Dawna Steiner, Lauren Steiner, Lillian Steiner, McKenzie Steiner and Rai Steiner.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ayleen Martin in 2010.
A memorial service will be held at All Saint's Episcopal Church, 437 Rogers Street, Watsonville on December 1, 2012 at 11:00am All are welcome.
