Factory sale, tree lighting part of busy holiday weekend

Posted: Monday, Nov 26th, 2012

WATSONVILLE The Watsonville Holiday Factory Sale on Saturday kicks off a busy weekend for Christmas events in Santa Cruz County.

This year, 16 local businesses, including S. Martinelli & Company, Mica Cellars and La Selva Designs, will participate in the Factory Sale and offer discounts for holiday shoppers.

Anthony Silva, executive assistant at La Selva Designs, said the sale is a chance to offer consumers goods at a wholesale price or better.

"In these tough times, people are always looking for a bargain," he said.

La Selva Designs, which has been participating in the annual sale since it began, will offer bargain hunters discounts on umbrellas, tote bags and more.

This year, the business is pushing its reusable bags for sale, Silva said, since the plastic bag ban ordinance took effect in Watsonville in September.

The sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a complete lists of vendors and directions to each sale, visit watsonvillefactorysale.com.
