WATSONVILLE — Stanley Ayers Martin of Watsonville died on Thursday, November 15, 2012. He was 90.
Mr. Martin was born on Sept. 1, 1922 and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1940, attending Hartnell Junior College. He served as a Sergeant in the engineering corp during World War II. Mr. Martin was also lieutenant governor of Watsonville Kiwanis Club, and at All Saints’ Church served in many positions of leadership, always ready to help with a project. He was an owner of Martin and Friend Insurance, previously worked for Watsonville Water Dept., and was an FBI agent.
He was a devoted and loving husband and father, and was generous to many people. His passion for fishing allowed him to enjoy lifetime friendships and the natural world. He will be missed by many.
Mr. Martin is survived by his children, Suzanne Martin of Poulsbo, Wash., Laurie Fetty of Monroe, Wash. and Scott Martin of Watsonville; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Norman and Phyllis Martin of Santa Clara and Ron Martin of Colorado, and sister-in-law Dotty Bretschneider of San Jose. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ayleen Martin in 2010.
Memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at All Saints’ Church in Watsonville. All are welcome.
