Santa Cruz County is calling on the public to name a street in Aptos Village.
The proposed street is part of the Aptos Village project and will run between Aptos Creek Road and Trout Gulch Road.
Choices include:
Rafael Castro – born in Santa Cruz County in 1803, Castro owned the 6,000 plus acre Aptos Rancho, including the current Aptos Village.
Sawmill Road – in honor of the sawmill that was on Aptos Creek in the 1800s
Apple Barn Street – in honor of the historic apple packing shed that is currently used an antiques store. It will be relocated and converted into a proposed grocery store as part of the development plan.
Aptos Village Way
You can also write-in your street-name choice.
The Aptos Village Project will provide more than 60 residential units and 75,000 square feet of commercial space in an 11-acre development zone in the heart of Aptos Village. A tentative ground breaking is set for sometime next spring.
