After not being able to find a fight for a year, Watsonville boxer Carina Moreno is set to fight her third bout in four months.

Moreno is scheduled to face Susi Kentikian on Dec. 1 for the WBA Female Flyweight Championship. The bout is set to take place in Dusseldorf, Germany, the homeland for Kentikian.

“She’s had two losses in a row, and now everyone wants to fight her,” said Moreno’s trainer Rick Noble.

Moreno is 22-5, while Kentikian is 29-1. Four of Moreno’s losses have come in her last five bouts.

The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds.

Once again, Moreno is headed out of the country for a fight. In September, she traveled to Guanajuato, Mexico, where she lost to WBF Female Flyweight Champion Irma Sanchez by unanimous decision.

The Moreno camp still hasn’t forgotten about that fight, in which Moreno seemed to have things in control. But the three judges all gave the nod to the hometown boxer.

“Even the TV announcers thought it was a rip-off,” Noble said.

Noble and Moreno had plans to contest the ruling, but then two possible bouts opened up for Moreno.
