Posted: Saturday, Nov 3rd, 2012

The Alisal High football team stunned Monte Vista Christian High on Friday night, defeating the Mustangs 15-8.

Not only did Alisal help build its case for getting into the Central Coast Section playoffs, it put a huge dent into Monte Vista Christian’s hopes for possibly a first-round playoff home game.

Both teams are 7-2 with one game remaining.

The Trojans shut out the Mustangs in the first half, becoming the second team this season to do so.

Monte Vista Christian got its lone score when Zander Fisher-Tellez caught a 68-yard touchdown pass. The Mustangs went for 2 and got it, going ahead 8-7.

Alisal running back Ricardo Muniz delivered the big blow, scoring a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

• Soquel 47, Harbor 0: At Soquel, the Knights moved into sole possession of second place in the SCCAL by routing the Pirates.

Fabiano Hale scored five touchdowns, as the Knights improved to 7-2 on the season; they’re 4-1 in the SCCAL.

The Knights scored all 47 points in the first three quarters. Hale had three touchdowns before the half.
