WATSONVILLE — Rickie Louis Rackley, born in Watsonville to Orville Jr. and Dolores Rackley, died while surrounded by family members at home on Saturday, September 29, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. He was 53.
Mr. Rackley was well-known for his great smile, jokes and being the life of the party. He enjoyed motocross racing, motorcycles and racing in general, sports cars, boats, bicycling and camping activities. He lived on Maui the last five years and enjoyed all the beach activities; wind surfing, snorkeling, sun bathing and riding his bicycle 50 to 60 miles a day.
He is survived by his daughter, Maygan Rackley; mother, Dolores Rackley; brothers, Ron (Jan) Rackley, Rex (Brenda) Rackley; and sister, Rachelle (Larry) Martinez.
A celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Watsonville at 101 Madison St. on Friday at 3 p.m. With Mr. Rackley’s love for cars and motorcycles the family would encourage any attendees to bring your hot rod or bike to the celebration. Parking will be provided between the church and youth house.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to request any donations be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 430-3000 in memory of Rickie Rackley.
