Long time Watsonville resident, Joyce A. Evans, slipped peacefully into heaven on Sept. 22, 2012. She was born on April 29, 1926 in Black Creek WI; in 1943 she met and married the love of her life, Harold Evans. The couple lived in a variety of places while he served in the Navy and afterward settled down in California to raise their family. After retiring Joyce volunteered in Aptos Assembly of God Food Pantry, for the Santa Cruz Good Will Thrift Store, and was very active in Wild Lily Chapter 18 OES. In 2005 they moved to Oregon where she spent the final years of her life. She was a lovely, classy lady who liked to dance, sing, cook, camp, fish and entertain. She believed "family was everything" but had many friends and acquaintances.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Harold Evans, and two of her 3 sons: Hal and Mike (Jeff predeceased her). She has six grandchildren: Alicia Hague, Jacob, Matt, Melissa, Taylor, and Lauren; and four great-grandchildren: Ben, Hannah and Tyler Hague, and Asher Evans.
She will be sorely missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Partners in Care Hospice (2075 N E Wyatt Court, Bend OR) in her honor. For the complete article see the 09-29-2012 issue.
