William Mathis


WATSONVILLE — William J. (Bill) Mathis died on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was 76.

Mr. Mathis was born in Vian, Okla., to Walter and Viola Mathis on Nov. 16, 1935. Mr. Mathis was a resident of Watsonville for 60 years. He met and married the love of his life of 58 years, Alberta. He worked for Meadow-Gold Milk for 20 years and retired from Dryers Ice Cream Diaries at Del Ray Oaks. Mr. Mathis never met a stranger and had a smile for everyone. He loved to go camping and fishing. The love of his life was his family.

He is survived by his children, Ron, Debbie, Dale Harlan and Steve; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; step-brother, Danny Jackson of Arizona; two uncles; one aunt; and two brother-in-laws and their wives.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Patrick and Debbie Carroll at the Carroll Family Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville, CA 724-4751.
