BOULDER CREEK — The Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who reportedly attempted to assault a girl near Boulder Creek.
According to the sheriff’s department, the suspect tried to grab a 16-year-old girl from behind as she got off a bus on Aug. 26 approximately 11 a.m. on the 12000 block of Highway 9, and at one point grabbed her hair.
The victim screamed and the suspect fled in a white Toyota truck.
The victim told her father about the incident, and he went to the area where he saw a similar truck, but was unable to make contact. The father described the truck as a white 1993 or 1994 Toyota pickup truck single cab 4X4, slightly lifted with newer tires and a missing tailgate.
The victim described the suspect as a white male in his 30’s, 6 feet tall with a thin build, a bump on his nose and light brown or blond hair. He had “scruff” on his jawline and a goatee. He was wearing blue jeans and a white tank top.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division at 454-2311, or the anonymous tip line at 454-2847.
