Mitchell Cohen

AROMAS — Mitchell Lawrence Cohen, died at his home in Aromas on Saturday, August 18, 2012. He was 52.

Mr. Cohen was born in Bronx, N.Y. on Dec. 22, 1959 to Stuart M. Cohen and Jeanne Collier. One of his fondest memories of his childhood in New York was riding the train with his nanny, Irene “Sweetie” Hightower. In 1974 he moved to California and graduated from Renaissance High School in Watsonville. He worked various jobs including running his own gardening business, construction, packing and shipping, and most recently worked as a forklift operator for the D’Arrigo Bros. Co.

Mr. Cohen was a wonderful guitar player and played mostly Folk Music. He was an avid reader of science books, especially books on Physics and Quantum Physics. He also loved gardening, going to concerts, watching hockey games, going camping, nature, and taking care of his two cats, Sasha and Lumpy.

Mr. Cohen is survived by his mother, Jeanne Collier of Aromas; his father, Stuart (Rosemary) Cohen of Port. St. Lucie, Fla.; his brother, Vanya (Jacqueline) Cohen of Asunción, Paraguay; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Per the family’s request, no services are being held. Arrangements were entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
