Local Catch to open seafood subscription service in Watsonville

WATSONVILLE — Seafood lovers in Watsonville will soon be able to easily get their fill of freshly-caught local fish, when Local Catch Monterey Bay opens a pick-up location in Watsonville within the next month.

The pick-up location will be located at West Marine on 500 Westridge Dr. in Watsonville. Currently, the closest pick-up locations are in Moss Landing and at Cabrillo College in Aptos.

Many Watsonville residents have been clamoring for a closer location, and have been letting Local Catch know, said Program Manager Alan Lovewell.

"The Watsonville community is perfect for our program," Lovewell said.

Local Catch is a subscription-based service. Subscribers can sign up for a "small share" or "family share," with payment frequency options, and can choose whether they want a whole fish or fillet. Every Tuesday, Local Catch will deliver to the customer's selected pick-up location.
