The Northern California PONY Coast Regional Zone tournament is scheduled to begin Friday with four games, two involving a local team.
Teams from all over the West Coast are scheduled to play in the tournament, with the winner advancing to the PONY World Series in Washington, Pa.
Watsonville, the tournament host, will play in the finale at 5 p.m. against Cache Valley, Utah.
In the 9:30 a.m. opener, Santa Cruz takes on Long Beach. That game will be followed by Bellingham, Wa., vs. Kauai, Hawaii. At 2:30 p.m., Scottsdale, Ariz., will face Campbell.
