Plascencia returns to the beauty salon business with Don Laleis

WATSONVILLE — After nine years, Watsonville businesswoman Melody Plascencia is back in the beauty salon game.

The former owner of LaDonna's Beauty Supply & Salon on Freedom Boulevard recently opened a new salon and supply story, Don Laleis Beauty Supply and Salon near Nob Hill Foods in the Watsonville Square Shopping Center on Main Street, where Appearances Beauty Supply used to be.

"We're still building it up," Plascencia said Monday. The salon had a soft opening on May 20, with a grand opening set for Aug. 3.
