WATSONVILLE — Salvador Clemente Barajas died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in Watsonville. He was 91.
Mr. Barajas was born in Angamacutiro, Michoacan, on Feb. 23,1921. He traveled the states and settled in Watsonville. After many years of working the fields, he became an entrepreneur, opening the Mona Lisa Cafe and Patio in Watsonville in the 1970s. He loved gardening, fishing, playing bingo, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He had 19 children, 65 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-9 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, with Rosary commencing at 7 pm at the Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Church with interment to follow in the Valley Public Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Patrick and Debbie Carroll Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville.
