WATSONVILLE — Dorotea S. Raymundo died at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 28, 2012. She was 90.
Mrs. Raymundo was born in Jones, Isabela, Philippines Islands and moved to the Watsonville area in 1967. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and going to the casinos. She also loved to travel to the Philippines to visit family with her husband and continued to do so after he passed away.
Mrs. Raymundo was an elementary school teacher in the Philippines for 10 years but worked for Green Giant Foods for over a decade before she retired. She volunteered for many organizations throughout her life. She was an active volunteer Health Worker providing medical services to the rural areas of her hometown, and was a poll watcher and canvasser of local and national elections.
Mrs. Raymundo is survived by her stepchildren; Tom Raymundo and Eva Raymundo and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Modesto Raymundo.
Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday with the Rosary recited at 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated directly following the Rosary also at St. Patrick’s Church. Graveside service will be held at Valley Public Cemetery.
