Watsonville faces scrutiny in the latest Grand Jury report

WATSONVILLE -- The city faces scrutiny in the latest Grand Jury report, which will be discussed today at a press conference.

How Watsonville city staff handle finances, such as the new fire truck and the Strawberry Festival funds, were again investigated by the Grand Jury.

Regarding the fire truck, the Grand Jury expressed several concerns in the report, including the following: "Issuance of a $225,000 check in April 2008 for a fire truck, more than three years prior to its delivery. Nearly a year after its delivery, the operational status remains unclear."
