Andrew ‘Andy’ Taylor

WATSONVILLE —Andrew “Andy” Taylor, a native of Watsonville, died in his home on Friday, June 8, 2012, with his family and friends by his side. He was 75.

Mr. Taylor was born on May 12, 1937 to Elmer and Theresa Taylor. He graduated from Watsonville High School in 1956. In 1960 he was drafted into the United States Army, did his basic training at Fort Ord, and stationed in Panama for two years. After his return stateside, he continued serving his country in the National Guard. After his completion of his military service, he began his 40 year career in the construction industry. After retirement he continued to do the things he loved. This included spending time with his two grandchildren, skydiving, gardening, football, baseball, and barbecuing for his friends and family.

Mr. Taylor leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Diane Taylor; sons, Michael Taylor and Jon (Kris) Taylor both of Aptos; sister, Shirley (Rick) Rubottom of Aptos; brothers-in-law, Louie (Terri) Brazil of Watsonville and Greg (Elizabeth) Brazil of Arizona; two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Taylor.

At his request, there will be no services held. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz. Arrangements were entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
