Mr. Eugenio Villanueva was born and raised in Weslaco Texas on January 27th, 1947. He attended local schools and soon thereafter traveled and settled in Watsonville, California following the seasonal harvest. He then married his wife Maria of 46 years at the Our Lady of The Assumption Church in Pajaro and created his new life and family. Even after settling in California he remained a devoted "Tejano" until the day of his death.
He leaves his Beloved Grandchildren, Ashley & Fred Martinez, Ricky Cabrera, Brianna Ruvalcaba, Stephen Martinez, Clarissa & Jose Rocha, Elias & Lydia Cardona, Eugenio Nevin III, Leonard Joseph Jr, Sadie, Halie & Zoie Villanueva.
Great Grandchildren, Chloe Cabrera, Bella & Maliyah Martinez, Jose Jr, Miklo, Nikolas & Alissa Rocha & Melody Cardona. He leaves them to continue his name. He has left them his strength and has shared his wisdom.
Through his travels about the West and Mid-West he has seen and experienced more events than the average person has and he loved to pass on his experiences to others through his stories and tall tales. He was a very humble man and would not hesitate to give anything he had and would accept and take in those who entered his life. He gave all that he had to give to his family because he would rather give than receive. Nothing made him happier than to be able to give to his family.
He proudly worked in the Agriculture Industry and was employed for over 30 years by Carl Dobler and Sons, he was known as "Marshall" to his co-workers because of his Tejano style, boots and cowboy hats he wore when he first arrived in California.
His Family would like to thank Dominican Hospital and Ave Maria Memorial Chapel for their wonderful support and guidance.
Visitation will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St, Watsonville on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 beginning at 2pm with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7pm.
A Mass will follow on Thursday, May 24th, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Church, 721 Main St, Watsonville and Mr. Villanueva will then be laid to rest at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Rd.
