WATSONVILLE — Joan Dolores Tomaso died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was 79.
Mrs. Tomaso was a life-long Watsonville resident and a graduate of Watsonville High School. In 1951, she married her husband Donald Tomaso. Mrs. Tomaso was a telephone operator for Pacific Bell for 25 years. After retiring, she and Don enjoyed spending time together and Mrs. Tomaso especially enjoyed their annual summer trips to Hawaii where she made many lifelong friends. She was a world-class cook and she enjoyed nothing more than spending her free time in her kitchen where she could be found working on her next delicious meal for her family and her very fortunate friends and neighbors.
Mrs. Tomaso is survived by her husband, Donald Tomaso of Watsonville; sons, Don Tomaso Jr., Gary Tomaso, David (Terri) Tomaso; daughter Leslie (Stephen) Imbode; brother, Ron (Linda) Gordon; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A celebration of life will be held on May 26 at the Valley Heights Senior Community Center at 1 p.m. All friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice. Ave Maria Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
