Soquel beats Aptos to win share of SCCAL title

SOQUEL — The Soquel High softball team can call themselves champions once again.

The Knights scored two runs in the third to take the lead for good and then broke the game open with six runs in the fifth inning to beat Aptos 10-3 in the teams’ season finale.

The win, coupled with Santa Cruz’s victory, means the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League championship will be shared by them as well as San Lorenzo Valley. All three teams finished with 10-2 records in league.

For Soquel, it’s the school’s third consecutive softball league championship.
