Irene Crosetti Thompson

July 19, 1917-April 28, 2012

Irene was born in Watsonville, CA on July 19, 1917 to Frank and Margharita Crosetti. She attended schools in Watsonville and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1935. She graduated from Salinas Jr. College in 1937. She met Michael Thompson in high school and they were married on July 15, 1939. They were married at the St. Patrick Catholic Church by their good friend Rev. C.V. Higgins. In 1943 Mike and Irene moved to Exeter, CA where they farmed for several years and later went into the citrus business.

She is survived by two children Michael Thompson and wife Angela of Tracy, CA and Jane Pugh of Visalia, CA, two grandchildren Julie Gilbert of Visalia, CA and Joseph Pugh and wife Lisa of Visalia, CA, three great grandchildren Brooke and Brian Gilbert and Evan Pugh. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her dear friend Jan Walters. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brother and her husband. 

Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Irene enjoyed golf and was a member of the Visalia Country Club for 60 years. She also enjoyed needlepoint and playing bridge with her friends. She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. . Interment will be private for family only. Remembrances may be made to George McCann School or to the donor’s favorite charity. God bless you. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Visalia. Condolences may be offered at www.millerchapel.com.
