APTOS — Crazy things have happened to the Aptos High baseball team this week, and there’s still one more day to go.

The Mariners scored four of their five runs with two outs, including a two-run home run by Gunnar Glaum, as they defeated San Lorenzo Valley 5-4 on Friday afternoon to stay unbeaten in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League.

The win came two days after they survived a battle with Harbor in Santa Cruz.

Talbot started the bottom of the fifth inning with a first-pitch single to centerfield. After two straight pop-ups for outs, Glaum took a 1-0 pitch to left field for the Mariners’ second home run of the day.

“I know I needed to do something to help my team,” Glaum said. “I came up there with intentions to get a hit, and it just happened to be a home run.”

Aptos grabbed the lead moments after losing it in the top of the fifth inning.
