Ryan Olmeda hit the game winning single as the Watsonville High baseball team beat North Monterey County 7-6 to exact revenge from Monday’s loss.
In the seventh, James Duran hit a double, setting up Olmeda’s heroics. Duran finished 2 for 4 and scored two runs.
North Monterey County scored four in the fourth, in part because of a Luis Moreno double that brought home two runs.
Watsonville responded with two in the sixth to tie the game; in that inning, Josh Beltran hit an RBI double.
Chris Rivera was the winning pitcher, giving up five hits while walking four and striking out nine.
Rivera also went 2 for 4 with a triple.
