Condors break through Monte Vista Christian

CASTROVILLE — The North Monterey County High softball team knew things were going to be different in their rematch with Monte Vista Christian.

So when the Mustangs threw their virtual haymaker, North Monterey County responded with two big blows of its own.

The Condors scored three runs in the fifth inning and five runs in the sixth inning to defeat Monte Vista Christian 11-3 on Tuesday afternoon at home.

The win keeps North Monterey County right in the top half of the Monterey Bay League at 6-2.

North Monterey County untied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning when eight Condors batted.

Kimberly Eaton, Andrea Estigoy and Janelle Godfrey all scored in the inning as the Condors used five hits and one sacrifice to get the three runs.
