Aptos alum Torres improves to 2-0 at Colorado Springs

Santa Cruz native and Aptos High grad Carlos Torres improved to 2-0 on the season as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeated the Las Vegas 51s 14-2 on Monday night.

Torres pitched 5 2-3 innings and allowed just one run while striking out six. His ERA dipped to 2.29.

Torres has a win in his last two starts.

The 5 2-3 innings is the longest he’s pitched in a game this season, and it’s the third time he’s gone five innings.

He gave up his lone run in the second inning after the Sky Sox scored three runs.
