WATSONVILLE — Alfonso Guillen died on Monday, April 23, 2012, at his son’s home in Watsonville. He was 80.
Mr. Guillen had retired after 70 years of farming in Mexico. He was a happy, hard-working man who was always whistling. He enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Guillen is survived by his sons, Antonio, Luis, Alfonso, Simon and Jose Guillen; daughters, Angela, Isabel, Herminia, Helena, Maria Salud, and Reina Guillen; 45 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 9 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 10 a.m., at Church of the Assumption. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
