WATSONVILLE ó Helen G. Pappa died peacefully in Watsonville on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She was 90.
Mrs. Pappa was born in Frackville, Pennsylvania on October 29, 1921 to J. and Stella Golba. She spent many years in Key West, Florida before moving to Watsonville five years ago. As a young woman during WWII she worked as a secretary at the Pentagon. In 1942, she married U.S. Navy Lt. Rudolph Pappa. After the war she dedicated her life to taking care of her husband and son. Mrs. Pappa was also an avid golfer, enjoyed exercising and staying fit.
Mrs. Pappa is survived by her son, Rudolph C. (Edie) Pappa. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Rudolph Pappa.
A memorial mass will be held at Valley Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Mehlís Colonial Chapel.
