SALINAS — Several local student-athletes have seemed to make the track their home this past weekend.
A few athletes competed in both the Central Coast Section Top 8 meet on Friday in San Jose as well as the Bill Kearney Invitational earlier today at Hartnell College.
For some other athletes, the Kearney was their first action this week, and they tried to make the most of it.
Pajaro Valley High’s Dyani Jacobo was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet, 3.75 inches. She was bested by Santa Cruz’s Marie Powell, who took first at 34 feet, 3.5 inches.
Later in the day, Jacobo leaped 14 feet, 7 inches in the girls long jump.
