GALT — William “Memo” Marquez died on Sunday, April 8, 2012 in Galt, Calif. He was 76.
Mr. Marquez was born in Watsonville on December 23, 1935. He loved the word of God, family, reading, sports, competition, golfing and just about anything outdoors. He had a zest and a passion for life. He met his loving wife, Martie, of 51 years while attending Monterey Peninsula College. Always hardworking with a thirst for knowledge, he worked right up to his passing. He served his country in the United States Air Force, earned his MBA from Humboldt State University in 1970 and served as the president on the Salinas Valley Association of Realtors in 1993 and 1994.
Mr. Marquez is survived by his wife, Martie Marquez; children, Armando (Maria) Marquez, Anthony (Lisa) Marquez, Guillermo (Tara) Marquez; siblings, Carmen Shaw, Jimmy Marquez, Joanne Hogan and Brenda Bignes; grandchildren, Michael Marquez, Robert Pearson, Anthony Marquez Jr., Jacqueline Marquez, Ashley Marquez, Hailey Marquez and Isabella Marquez.
Memorial Services will be held at the Herald Baptist Church at 1 p.m. at 12037 Conley Road on April 28 in Herald, CA. A reception will follow at Hendrickson Hall, 12746 Ivie Road, Herald, CA 95638.
