MVC squeaks by Soquel

SALINAS — The scoreboard at Tony Teresa Diamond barely flinched because Nat Hamby and Sam Thorne were dealing strikes in a pitching duel Wednesday afternoon

It dented just once, when Thorne scored on a throwing error in the third inning. That was the lone run in a 1-0 win by the Monte Vista Christian baseball team over Soquel High in their third game of the Salinas Easter Tournament.

Both teams had three hits each.
