WATSONVILLE — Celso Gonzalez died on Friday, March 30, 2012. He was 69.
Mr. Gonzalez came to the U.S from Mexico in 1973 where he first worked as a grape picker before moving to the Watsonville area and becoming a landscaper. He enjoyed going fishing, riding his bike and having family barbecues.
Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Angelina and their children, Cecilia (Jose Guadalupe) Gonzalez of Mexico, Florentino (Josefina) Gonzalez of Hollister, Celso Gonzalez Jr., Maria Dolores (Abraham) Cordova, Albina (Anastacio) Ponce, Evangelina (David) Escoto and Veronica Gonzalez all of Watsonville; siblings, Antonio (Victoria) Gonzalez of Los Angeles, Alberto Gonzalez, Francisca Gonzalez, Maria Dolores (Ramon Ramirez) Gonzalez and Ramon (Maria Elena Perez) Gonzalez all of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Cecilia Gonzalez, Maria Bidal, and Maria Assuncion, as well as thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-9 p.m with the recitation of a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church with burial to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Ave Maria Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
