FREEDOM — Zenaida Llamas Nunez died at her home in Freedom on Friday, April 6, 2012. She was 79.
Ms. Llamas Nunez was born in Santa Rosa, Zacatecas, Mexico and moved to Watsonville in 1965. She loved roses and had a garden of more than 200 bushes. She was also a master at crocheting. Most of all she was very devoted to her Catholic faith, even until her final days.
Ms. Llamas Nunez is survived by her sons; Jose R. Estrada of Florida and Gonzalo Estrada-Llamas of Guadalajara, Mexico; daughters, Elia E. Vasquez of Watsonville, Alicia E. Heim of Freedom and Rosa Imelda Estrada of Sacramento; sister, Mercedez Llamas of Watsonville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gonzalo Estrada Haro, and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel today from 5-9 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church Friday at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
