SANTA CRUZ — If Santa Cruz resident Phil Kramer has his way, 180 of Santa Cruz County’s at-risk homeless people will be in permanent, supported housing by July 2014.

Kramer is spearheading a plan called "180/180," which are local efforts to link the county with the national 100,000 Homes project. Kramer says he hopes the project will establish the necessary infrastructure to keep “at-risk” homeless people in a home and help with health issues such as diabetes, mental or physical disabilities and advanced age in some type of permanent housing.

He plans on addressing county residents about the project at briefings in Watsonville on April 23 and in Santa Cruz the next day.
