WATSONVILLE — The Watsonville Municipal Airport has lacked a restaurant since Zuniga’s Mexican Food Restaurant closed its doors in September.

But that will change with the grand opening of Props – slated for the end of May – a full-service restaurant and bar from Andrew R. Crocker, the owner and operator of the popular Santa Cruz restaurant and pub, 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.

The decision to open up a restaurant at the airport was an easy one for Crocker. His wife is a local pilot and they are airport regulars.

“This combines our restaurant background and our passion for flying,” Crocker said. “When the restaurant became available, we jumped on it and its working out really well – and we love supporting the Watsonville Airport.” Crocker notes the many services the airport provides to local law enforcement and emergency responders.
