Carol Lynn Bristow died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at her home in Aromas.

A graduate of Porterville High School, Mrs. Bristow earned a bachelor of arts degree from UC Santa Barbara and went on to receive a master’s degree in library science at UCLA. She was one of the first employees hired at Evergreen Valley College, where she worked for 35 years before retiring in June. Mrs. Bristow was also active in local artisan groups and animal rescue organizations.

Mrs. Bristow is survived by her brother, Bill of Porterville.

Viewing will begin Monday at 1 p.m., with services at 7 p.m., at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth St. in Gilroy. Interment will be private.
