Robert L. Wellhausen died of cancer Monday, February 1, 2010, at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. He was 51.

A native of San Mateo, Mr. Wellhausen lived in Aromas for the past 10 years. He loved his animals and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and had many friends there.

Mr. Wellhausen is survived by his mother, Dorothy Burbank; three sisters, Barbara, Thelma and Cindy; brother, Bill; stepbrother, Scott Burbank; and companion, Cathleen Miche. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Wellhausen; and stepfather, Luther Burbank.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 14 at 12:30 p.m. at New Life Community Church in Prunedale. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
