WATSONVILLE — Olivia Reyes Villanueva died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 13, 2014. She was 75.
She was born to Jose Reyes and Juana Villanueva in Michoacán, Mexico on Sept. 6, 1938. She was an exceptional mother, beloved grandmother and very good friend. Ms. Reyes Villanueva and her family settled in this community 24 years ago. She loved to cook for her large family and attend to her birds and plants. She was a woman of faith, very devoted to her religion.
She is survived by her six sons, Enrique, Juan Jose, Roberto, Alejandro, Gustavo and Jesus Manolo Garcia Reyes; three daughters, Eulalia, Imelda, and Alma Micaela Garcia Reyes; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Thursday, June 19 from 5-9 p.m. with the vigil at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Friday, June 20 at 10 a.m. with the burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
