Carmen volunteered every year with voter registration and as a teacherís aide.† She fed and took in anyone in her presence that needed it and everyone was greeted with her famous tortillas. A devout Catholic, Carmen also believed in the power of positive thinking and teaching all who were close to her the real meaning of unconditional love and grace.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Ray. She is survived by a daughter; sons, Ray, Jimmy (Janet) and Dennis; three brothers; one sister; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Mehlís Colonial Chapel on Sunday, April 27th from 5-9:00 pm with the rosary recited at 7:00 pm.† A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 28th at 10:00 am at St. Patrickís Church with the burial following at Valley Public Cemetery.For the complete article see the 04-24-2014 issue.
