WATSONVILLE — Mario A. Lopez died on Christmas Eve surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was 46.
Mr. Lopez was a long-time resident of Watsonville, who was born December 14, 1967 in Michoacán Mexico. He attended the Pajaro Valley schools and throughout his lifetime participated in various programs and activities for adults with special needs. He had a passion for music and enjoyed making friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria de Jesus; and his sister, Soledad Alvarez. He is survived by his father, Rafael Lopez; sisters, Esperanza Torres, Lourdes Navarro, Magdalena Maciel, Maria de Jesus Lopez, Rocio Lopez; brothers, Arturo, Rafael, Artemio and Francisco; 30 nieces and nephews and 34 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 3-9 p.m. with a citation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St,. Watsonville. Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Church with the burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted in the care of The Carroll Family of Ave Maria Memorial Chapel.
